About
Me
I have been a student of Yoga for at least 10 years
now. I was drawn to Yoga because I thought the
movement was beautiful to watch. I was VERY
frustrated at first by how inflexible and weak I
felt - it was humbling. I'm so thankful I stuck
with it. Soon I started to feel stronger,
healthier, centered, more balanced and peaceful. My
life began to change in wonderful and unexpected
ways. I learned to love and honor my body. I
finally saw the beauty in patience, discipline
and being still. Somewhere along the way I found my
voice and began to use it. I started focusing on
being more conscious. I look back now and realize I
was waking up. I began to listen to my intuition
and later trust it. I got stronger – mind, body and
spirit. Even now, every day brings a new lesson.
I was asked to teach over 9 years ago. I absolutely
love it. I LOVE having anything to do with people
getting into Yoga and having their lives changed as
a result.
I have completed many work shops and teacher
trainings in conjunction with YogaWorks, Integrative
Healing Strategies, Omega Institute for Holistic
Studies and the Institute for Advancement of Human
Behavior. My training reaches Vinyasa, Sivananda,
Vini, Bikram, Ashtanga and Pre-natal Yoga and
various types of meditation and energy work. I am
greatly influenced by Rod Stryker, Shiva Rae, Bryan
and Johnny Kest and Tias Little. I am certified
with the prestigious and international YogaWorks. I
am also certified for Advanced Reiki.
Vinyasa is my home - this flow style of yoga
resonates with me on many levels. More than
anything, I believe in listening to your body VERY
closely. If you are able to hear the whispers,
you will never hear a shout. I like to blend styles
to customize and change it up.
On the personal side, I grew up in Kansas and have
two amazing children. I think a little sense of
humor can go a long way. I consider myself to be
more spiritual than religious. I trust that the
Universe guides us when we pay attention and stay
present. Conscious living is not for sissies! I
believe energy medicine is very powerful stuff. And
I think people should use Yoga in their lives
however it suits them.
N’amaste
